A Window into the Bio-Diversity of Molokini Crater

Who are the Friends of Molokini?

"An understanding of the natural world is a source of not only great curiosity, but great fulfilment."
- Sir David Attenbourough

A real-time, Bird's Eye View of the Bio-Diversity of Molokini. Funded by the Friends of Molokini, a Hawaiian Non-Profit Organization, devoted to research, education, conservation and preservation. Focusing on all animals that thrive on this precious resource.

Why Do We Exist?

“COVID caused a ‘natural experiment’ that dramatically reduced human presence, allowing us to see wildlife in a more pristine system.”
-Dr Kevin Weng

It is our responsibility, to the future generations, that we preserve and protect the natural places that we respect as sources of life in the 'aina. To remain aware of the real-time conditions presented and to inform all those interested with a hope to provide a sustainable, safe and enjoyable experience of one of nature's most sacred spaces.

What Can We Do?

Using state of the art technologies, we are able to reduce invasive and non-sustainable behaviors. The Friends of Molokini provides material and financial support to emerging technologies that better enhance the conservational goals
